Folkestone is a small seaside town in the south-east of England and is best known for the Euro-tunnel and the Zeebrugge disaster. However, I know it as a fond childhood memory, travelling from Shrewsbury to visit family and friends as it is my mothers hometown. I remember walking along the stoney beaches with the ocean wind flowing through my curly blonde hair. Going back after many years apart, the town has changed significantly; there is no beach funfair or decking hire, it is just empty. Although, the council is restoring the Harbour into more of a social and cultural area and the independent stores within the town are filled with vibrant colours.
